This is a place where watching the sunset is a celebrated evening event, trade winds rustle the palm tree branches that hang out over the sand, and humpback whales sing and breach just offshore.

Travel and Accommodations
Most people opt to fly their Pet Rocks to Maui utilizing a US Postal Service Flat Rate Box – just don’t forget to add some air holes so your pet can breathe!

Upon arriving at the Rockin’ Surf Shack your pet will be lovingly unpacked and allowed to sit on a local Hawaiian newspaper until they get used to their new surroundings and the other guests.
Once our honored guest is rested and acclimated we’ll take him or her on an orientation tour of the resort, showing them where all the amenities are located.
Next, we walk your pet the 1/2 block to the Pacific Ocean and Waipuilani Beach Park. Your pet will surely make new friends here among the rocks, dogs, people, and trees.
For the rest of your Pet Rock’s stay, we pretty much leave the agenda up to them, unless you’ve instructed otherwise.
Rock Pile! A fun activity at The Surf Shack
Most choose to go with us in the morning for a walk on the beach, from Waipuilani Park north to the Menehune Shores resort, then south until the beach runs out near Kalama Park. Then it’s back to the Surf Shack. The total walk is five miles – a good workout.
After that, the optional activities vary day-to-day. Some days we hang around Da Surf Shack. Others find us driving to Pa’ia and touring the art galleries, or driving to the summit of Haleakala Volcano. You’ll find a list of our many guided Maui activities below.
La Perouse Bay
Once a month we like to drive out across the lava fields to La Perouse and hike a few miles of the King’s Highway, originally built in the 1500s, walking through abandoned Hawaiian villages that date back hundreds of years. Pet Rocks always love this day trip because it’s almost all wild rocks – hardly any vegetation! It’s a great way to see how native rocks live the traditional, ancient Hawaiian lifestyle.
On other days we might visit the Maui Winery at Ulupalakua, or visit awesome destination surfing spots on the north shore in Haiku, like Ho’okipa and Jaws; or drive the winding, twisting road to Hana – and beyond!
To finish each day we celebrate the sunset back at Waipuilani Beach.
Feeding and Caring for Your Pet Rock
The food we serve is always wonderfully healthy and delicious, and authentically Hawaiian at every meal. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet three times a day, along with an evening snack. We have an Open Bar all day, every day, with soft drinks, beer, Mai Tais, and a wide variety of umbrella drinks.
We’ve never had a customer complain about the food or free-flowing beverages.
Like summer camp, we’ll make sure you get photos and a letter from your Pet Rock during their stay.
Group Rates
As you know, Pet Rocks are very sociable, and enjoy sharing their lodgings with other Pet Rocks!
Contact us for special pricing on large groups, conventions and family reunions. We can arrange fork lifts, backhoes, front end loaders, bulldozers, even dump trucks on an as-needed basis. Rocks ‘r Us!
Because of this, we have group rates for couples, friends and families of Pet Rocks. Our basic one-week Maui Holiday is $99 for rocks under 25 lbs. Each additional rock is only $25 per week.
Not only that but when you arrange special events for your pet, up to FIVE rock friends can attend the event with them at no extra charge!
We provide an experience that your Pet Rock will remember for the rest of their life, and love you for it!

Pet Rocks over 25 lbs. and the severely handicapped can be accommodated by special arrangements. Please contact us about your special needs pet.
